Have time will blog...

Well, it has been awhile since we last updated the blog, but Lisgar O'Connor has been busy. Bill moved again, Sly changed jobs, and we gigged on the Interwebz, in Stittsville and helped a charity organization accomplish its good deeds.

November 21: Live show on Stickam

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of our blog, Lisgar O'Connor decided to expand its territory on the Interwebz through Web 2.0 technologies. We used our Stickam account (www.stickam.com/lisgaroconnor) to broadcast a show live from Sly's living room.

The show was well attended for this first experience, with 60 viewers from all around the world: Russia, Holland, Canada, the U.S. and Japan. We liked it so much that we're intending to make it a monthly event. So check out our calendar on Stickam (http://www.stickam.com/lisgaroconnor) to be posted on the dates. If you have a Stickam account, send us a Friend Request and you will be automatically informed when we update the calendar.

December 5: Performance at Daniel O'Connell Irish Pub in Stittsville

Saturday December 5th, Lisgar O'Connor took the stage again at this popular watering hole in Jackson Plaza where they serve much more than water! We were joined on stage by Andy, who hosts the Thursday night open stage at this location and who was celebrating his birthday. Happy birthday Andy!

December 6: La Guignolée!

La Guignolée is a yearly charitable event organized by the Société St-Vincent-de-Paul throughout the Province of Québec, in Canada. On the first Sunday of December, volunteers go door-to-door to collect food, clothing and money for the poor, while singing a traditional song threatening people who won't give to take away their eldest daughter so she can be fed and her feet kept warm! Talk about hardcore fundraising!

After collecting the food, volunteers gathered in the basement of the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette church in Gatineau, for a traditional meal of baked beans and tourtière (ground meat pie) and fellowship while a crew counted funds raised and organized food for distribution.

Lisgar O'Connor provided live entertainment during the meal.

This year, close to $14,000 were raised in this area of town. Here, Bill and Sly are standing with Suzanne and Mario, two of the Guignolée's organizers.
