Last night Bill and Sylvain recorded a demo CD in Sylvain's apartment by the Ottawa river.
It's a "quick and dirty" kind of demo. Three songs, one take for each song.
The demo CD contains "The Witch of Westmoreland" by Archie Fisher, "Father and Son" by Cat Stevens, and "Mighty Big Car" by Fred Eaglesmith. Three songs that are part of Lisgar O'Connor's regular setlist.
The idea was to capture just about the way Lisgar O'Connor sounds live. That way, people who want to hire Lisgar O'Connor can get an idea of what they're getting into.
We made that CD for the sole purpose of passing it along to venue
owners and managers who might be interested in booking Lisgar O'Connor, so it is not for wide distribution and definitely not for sale.
So if you just want to have a memento or a recording to play to your friends, well, we'd rather you come and see us at our next gig and have a pint with us.
Lisgar O'Connor is working on a well-produced commercial CD that will feature lots of our original material and we think it's worth the wait.
Patience is a virtue after all...

Heck, we'll even do weddings if you don't mind us singing songs about throwing your unfaithful girlfriend under a train, putting your dog to sleep or exposing yourself in the woods while drinking rotgut!
