The Dangdest Show Yet

Lisgar O’Connor at Daniel O’Connell’s — September 25, 2004
How it went and what you missed (if you weren’t there)

We love to play at Daniel O’Connell’s. The staff is friendly and appreciative (you’ll find out when you meet Mustang Tony, bartender and manager, a true gentleman), and the patrons always amaze us with their welcome.

Lisgar O’Connor performed their all-time favorites (such as Barrett’s Privateers, John The Revelator, and Father And Son) but also, for the first time, a brand new addition to their repertoire: And I Love Her, by the Beatles.

Gigging musicians meet lots of people. Unfortunately, some they can’t remember (memory is a finite faculty) and some they’d rather forget (memory is a finite AND capricious faculty).

People we will not forget are Kenneth and Maggie, from Calgary, who gave us fine renditions of Kenneth’s own compositions, and shared mementos from North Africa with us. Much appreciated.

There is also Lady Patricia, from Ireland, who grilled Bill with her “Who the F**k gave you that haircut” stand-up comedy routine. Lady Patricia, we love you.

Yes, Lisgar O’Connor will open the stage for you if you have something significant and enlightening to share with the audience. Mind you, it also helps if you won’t break our instruments or sound system, but that’s another story...

Special thanks to our fans, among which, Paintball Joe, a fine artist who shared his wonderful talent with us in the past (he created a few of our collectible postcards), and Jennifer The Lovely, another fine artist whose smile will always warm up our souls.
We will be back at Daniel O’Connell’s, probably in November. Visit our Blog for more details about our upcoming shows.
